it means you are accurate. Album is the generic word for full work (all the songs together) with the formats being - record, cassette tape, 8-track tape (archaic , CD, mp3, etc. So, if you said Echo and the Bunnymen RECORD cover, you'd be either showing your age or being an audiophile/hipster.
