M$NBC was just cut off by DIRECTV stating that I'm not authorized

to receive that channel right at the beginning of the Rachel Maddow Show. Like hell I'm not! I pay for the extra channels in my package and have been receiving them for years. I'm now jumping through all the reset hoops and that takes forever. Has this happened to anyone else? I hope it's nothing nefarious. It's just that where I live we are becoming more and more isolated from real news. All our radio stations are now right wing Limbaugh, O'Reilly, etc.. Sat. TV is the last outlet besides the internet.

If it happened to you then it seems it was a DIRECTV glitch not just my receiver.

and after much research came to the conclusion that Dish and Direct are about the same - and equally lousy - but are both better than cable.

Sadly this is what the internet will be if net neutrality is not saved

able to compare. I get better reception and fewer interruptions of service than they do. We have only one cable company and it sucks big time making satellite the only other choice.

We had to "re-authorize" our receiver via the web site and when that didn't work we re-started the receiver...still didn't work. It finally came back on it's own.

At first I was mad as hell, because that is why we dropped Comcast.

Hope it is straightened out now. Maybe it's the fault of Nika.

I was on hold 20 minutes with tech support, and it came back online right at the moment my call was answered. The guy said they were having technical issues with that station.
