when they are late you don't have to pay for the pizza, but the delivery guys had to pay for it.

When I worked at Dominos in the mid/late 90s we didnt do that. Of course, the whole "30 minutes or its free" thing had been discontinued by that point. Even then, when we did give out free pizzas for long delivery times, we didn't charge the driver.

It could have been just in his store, I don't know, but he lost money working for them. Had to quit

is why they stopped the 30 mines or its Free thing, at least from what I remember being told. Its one of those things that sounds good in theory, but in practice it leaves something to be desired. Even worse if they were forcing the drivers to pay for the free pizzas out of their own pockets.
