(2,593 posts)I think I was pretty dismissive of him when I heard he'd entered the race, but I really liked him! Well spoken with good priorities.

(11,441 posts)You might remember her during the government shutdown, or when an unsecured AR-15 was stolen from her garage.
Her campaign has already gone after Clay for being San Francisco (gay! nyuk nyuk).
I hope North Carolinians kick her to the curb.

(11,441 posts)but maybe if there are enough Claymates he can pull it off.
I'm hoping some of the suburbanites might be disgusted with our Koch-head governor Pat McCrory. Maybe even some of the rural voters who might not be doing so well economically are too. I know many in the military aren't happy with Ellmers. There's also the "gay" factor. North Carolina voters rejected marriage equality by a 61% to 39% vote, which absolutely disgusts me. I almost want him to win just for some sort of validation, if that makes sense.
She's just such a Sarah Palinesque bitch (yeah, I said it!):
"He didn't really fare all that well," Ellmers said in an interview on WMAL Radio in Washington. "He was runner-up."
"Apparently his performing career is not going so well and he's very bored," she said, adding that she thinks Aiken is a talented singer.

(4,023 posts)I probably rolled my eyes a little on the rumors. BUT he's thoughtful and well spoken. And like you said, his priorities are too my liking, too. NC needs more people like him in every level of their government. He seems like a real "Mr. Smith" and I hope he makes it to Washington DC.

(714 posts)He is a great human being.. Creating the inclusion project is one highlight and there is so much more that he has already accomplished. I know he will do more if he can win, I sure hope he has a chance. I have defended him through the years on different sites am I am so glad people will see him for who he really is.
