O'Reilly Predicts His Super Bowl Interview Will 'Go Down In Journalistic History'

TOM KLUDT – FEBRUARY 6, 2014, 12:33 PM EST

Four days later, Bill O'Reilly was still talking about his pre-Super Bowl interview with President Obama. And for good reason: the pundit is pretty sure that he made history.

“I’m going to predict that that interview that I did is going to go down in journalistic history as what should be done,” O'Reilly said Thursday on Geraldo Rivera's radio show, according to Politico. "It takes a certain skill to pose questions in a factual way and be persistent without being disrespectful."

O'Reilly has been making the media rounds in the days after the interview. During an interview with conservative radio host Hugh Hewitt on Tuesday, O'Reilly trashed Washington Post columnist Dana Milbank, who wrote a critical piece on the Super Bowl Sunday interview.

"He's a weasel, in my opinion. Beneath contempt," O'Reilly said of Milbank.

I suspect this interview will be used in every journalism school in the country pointing out:

1. This is how NOT to interview and be rude to the Leader of the Free World, and

2. How NOT to debate your interviewee, but to act like a responsible JOURNALIST

doubled down on it. It was disrespectful. It was artful lying. And he got more press and has now established himself, after the entire world saw him honored by an interview with the leader of the Free World, as the Top of the Respectable Tabloid Heap. A First.

The body language was the most instructive of all. Bill...seated forward, leaning forward, aggressively, controlling the entire encounter, and PBO sitting back, reflectively, I don't remember if his legs were crossed as I turned it off in the first 5 minutes.

conspiracy theories and spending zero time on actual current news items which would have been legitimate points to go after Obama on with vigor (Syria morass, TPP, economy).

FoxNews will eventually die, and we will look back on the era of FoxNews and shudder.
