explosives in toothpaste? really? anybody paying attention to whats going on in that corner of

the world knows there's plenty of loose weaponry floating around. there's no need for it to be smuggled in in tubes of toothpaste

the US security apparatus will just spout any kind stupid shit knowing it will be treated as gospel by the US press. (remember the dire warnings of terrorist frogmen in 2002?) even the talking heads on NPR were taking that ludicrous notion seriously.

oy.

"I knew it was always the fluoride that was the problem! I warned them about it being in the water, now it's in the toothpaste, and see, this is what happens!"

Say Glenn Beck fans everywhere.

Smuggled?

The point is to get it onto a plane and detonate it.

Who is talking about smuggling?

All I know is that's something ELSE I'm gonna have to buy when I get there instead of taking it with me.

I don't know who pisses me off more: terrorists, or people who have no need to be afraid of terrorists but are afraid of them anyway because the TV told them to be. Terrorists by a nose, I guess.

That was a great idea and I remember in those days people in DU were not too thrilled that bush and his administration completely ignored the PDB.

Like the guy with explosives in his underwear, I have picture in my mind of some not-too-bright wannabe terrorists trying mightily to fill the toothpaste tube with the explosive jelly they've just mixed up.
