"Fuck the EU"

What a clear example of making a mountain of a mole hill. And more to the point, why is no one wondering how a confidential conversation, recorded with broadcast clarity, wind on the intertubes.

The Fuck the EU statement was in no way intended to demean the EU. Here is a made up example of how it was intended, in context.

We need to repair this widget, Walt. I think I'll use a screwdriver to pry it open.

Oh no you don't. You'll ruin it by prying it open. Fuck the screwdriver. Use a wrench, okay?

Walt exhibited no antipathy toward the screwdriver. It was a throwaway comment, intended to add emphasis to the preferred means to effect the repair.

So we get a media shitstorm about a meaningless throwaway phrase by a woman known far and wide for a propensity for salty language, but NO ONE covers the real story: who is recording and then sharing private conversations that occur in a shielded building in Foggy Bottom?

Let me recast the comment in question: Fuck the Media.
