The tax refund loansharking business will die if the IRS keeps this shit up

I e-filed my federal return on Monday, February 3.

Today I checked the status of the refund: "Your refund has been approved. It should be deposited in your bank account by February 11."

Mine also says: "Your tax refund is scheduled to be sent to your bank by February 11, 2014."

I hope so. I need it.

We all have noticed this: The most inefficient entity in the entire world is an American private business that owes you something. I don't care if it's money, special-ordered merchandise or whatever, if you owe them something they want it right fucking now but if they have to give you something, you'll get it when they feel like it and not before.

12. I wish I got a refund

I haven't in at least 5 years. I had to pay 960.00 after paying 11200 (out of paycheck) in 2011, 3200 (after 12034) in 2012 and who knows this year. I guess I sound bitter…lol. However, congratulations on those of you that get refunds. Great job!!!!

having the treasury hold your money at no interest is a bad investment.
With that amount of withholding you have, you must be doing very well financially, so no need to be bitter!

I am not bitter. I was kidding. I have 5 withholdings. Wife and four kids. I don't mind paying taxes. I was surprised that everyone was getting refunds though.

but now not so much. I filed before they started accepting, got credited with it being the 29th and will have my refund by the 12th. Still impressive but you beat me by about a week.

I was going by the Turbo Tax date of the 20th - which is just an estimate.

11. Normally they look at the eighth digit of your SSN when they prioritize that way

How I know this is not the case: my eighth digit is a nine. If they were prioritizing returns that way, I'd get my refund in September.

years ago. Last I checked Oregon is still there, despite the universally dire predictions of how terrible it would be for those poor people that their wonderful industry served.
