Rand Paul On Bridgegate: People Shouldn't Feel Bullied By Their Gov't

CATHERINE THOMPSON – FEBRUARY 10, 2014, 7:50 AM EST

Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) said Saturday that people shouldn't feel bullied by their government, referring to the bridge scandal plaguing New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie's (R) administration.

For weeks, Christie's administration has been embroiled in an investigation into whether it directed lane closures on the George Washington Bridge in September for political retribution. Asked by Houston TV station KTRK whether Christie should remain at the helm of the Republican Governors Assocation, Paul said it wasn't his place to judge.

"It's important that people think that their government not be used to bully them," Paul told KTRK. "So for example, one of the things that conservatives have been upset with President Obama is that it looked like he was using the IRS to target taxpayer groups."

"Nobody wants to think their government would shut down a bridge or do something just because you're a Democrat and I'm a Republican," he added. "It's an unsettling charge. I don't know if it's true, but it's unsettling."

WTF is up with TPM? First they're dragging out old Lewinsky gossip, now they've hefted Squirrelhead Paul up onto a pedestal...has someone put them in charge of FUD or something?

But all this does is increase links to his name on the internet. Curb Stomping - that's all anyone needs to know about this charlatan.

TPM gives press to all the garbage the republican are dying to get on the internet.

They can count on TPM to put it on their front page to provide a link for all the gossip mongers.

Rand Paul, Sarah Palin, Mike Huckabee all can count on TPM to get their message out.

It's disgusting.

F*ck himself. Who gives a shit what this worthless piece of humanity sinks. Oh yeah - and he's a libertarian who is against me - so I'm against him. He needs to mind his own damn business and run for Governor in his state and butt of out New Jersey's business. We don't need his kind weighing in around here.

Yeah - 'his kind'. No one at DU should take umbrage with me taking an opportunity to point out that a Teahadist loving Libertarian is too wet to step on and too low to kick and he can never ever be my ally.
