NJ Star-Ledger: Live chat with Tom Moran today at noon: Why he regrets endorsing Christie

The Star-Ledger's endorsement of Gov. Chris Christie for a second term was a close call and a split vote among the editorial board.

Despite our long list of reservations, we opted to offer our best advice and endorsed Christie.

Had we known what we know now, The Star-Ledger Editorial Board would not have given that advice. As editorial page editor Tom Moran put it in his Sunday column on the Perspective cover, "we blew this one."

Do you have questions about our endorsement or our regrets? Join Moran for a live chat today at noon.

brainwashed Christie supporters. "Poor Christie's getting vilified in the press".. no mention of his actions and how he might have some accountability in all of this.

She was trying to keep some greenspace for neighborhood parks in a small city that was being carved up by greedy pols and their corporate bosses. She was practically begged to run for Mayor by the actual residents of Hoboken after she stepped in when her predecessor was arrested. She has run an honest government, balanced a budget that was in a shambles and restored the city's floundering credit rating.

All of that and she has NEVER shown any sign of political ambition. The Christie people are going to look like complete asshole if they try to smear her.

This woman is only fighting for what is best for her city and has no need to lie.

here in Hawai'i. the Christie people are so rabid dawg dumb then and now that looking like assholes is the least of their problems. They're cornered rats and they'll always have their own dumb contingent that believes every word they say. But, I don't think that's going to help them now..

thanks for the insight, Walk away~
