Arizona Republican wants to jail undocumented immigrants for using public bathrooms

More conservative posturing. This is totally unenforceable, short of just pulling people over who look Hispanic, which they already tried to do last year but were overruled on Constitutional grounds. The only reason to bring up a bill like this is to be an asshole about advertising how much you hate Mexicans.

An Arizona state House committee on Wednesday will hold a hearing on a bill that could jail undocumented immigrants if they use public restrooms or other public resources like schools or roads.

The Committee on Federal and State Affairs will consider Republican state Rep. Carl Seel’s (R) House Bill 2192 that would require people who use public resources to provide proof that they are in the U.S. legally or provide proof of citizenship.

A first offense would be considered a misdemeanor. Second offenses would result in felony charges and possible jail time. Undocumented immigrants who use public roads could also have their cars seized, according to The Huffington Post.

Another narcissistic paranoid idea that would only hasten the onslaught of the new Dark Ages.

In the unlikely event that this passes, and isn't struck down, I guarantee you that no white people would ever be asked to present their proof of citizenship. It's a mystery! Only people Of A Certain Skin Tone would ever be asked.

If you wanted to kill laws like this deader than a doornail, start pulling random *white* people over while driving to Present Their Papers. Or out of the stall in the public restroom. Kind of like gun laws. I keep hoping that blacks and hispanics start carrying in large numbers, just to see how the GOP tries to spin their inevitable freak-out while trying to sound like they aren't just straight up racists.

to bring along and present a notarized copy of their birth certificate to be presented to the guard on duty at each public restroom in the State.

The fact that fucking idiots like this manage to not only get elected but actually get re-elected is pretty damning evidence of the stupidity of their constituents.

My bet is that I'm in the majority, so since the AZ nuts apparently believe majority rules without exceptions for individual human rights, let's start building the prisons now.
