Some say the world will end in fire,
Some say in ice.
From what I’ve tasted of desire
I hold with those who favor fire.
But if it had to perish twice,
I think I know enough of hate
To say that for destruction ice
Is also great
And would suffice

ice storm and watched the branches falling off of the trees from the weight of the ice. A large chunk of one tree mashed part of the front fence. We lost one tree entirely because all but two branches broke off. It was a terrible storm.

Stay warm, stay safe.

No happy creatures dancing on that lawn!

Ice is scary, even in my area where it's relatively common.

Like someone else said, beautiful but frightening.

Hope everyone stays safe in it...

I can't get close enough to get a good picture without them all flying off.

The squirrels are evidently sleeping in today, haven't seen one all day and they're normally abundant.

Ouch, there went a big limb cracking as I was typing that last sentence.

We didn't have that, even in the Big One, 1973. We were inside Atlanta city limits then, stood at the window and watched flashes of light every few seconds, each flash a power outage. This one may be even bigger. We're snug for now, hoping we don't have enough big oak trees to cut our power, hoping everyone stays safe and warm.
