I know that I haven't been the best DUer in the world as of late, but my PC time is limited due to the swelling in my legs and feet when I sit here with my feet down for a long period of time. I'm still involved in the battle against Reich Wing Stupidity, as much as I physically and mentally can be. Let me say too, that on this upcoming Valentines day, my love and respect for the DU faithful, has not diminished one iota, over the past 12 years, since my arrival at DU. You fine folks fight the good fight, of that I have never had any doubt. I feel like we have all, done some good here.

Thanks for being here and thanks for your many contributions for the betterment of United States of America.

5. I was born on a Friday, Oct 13 myself.

And I share the date with my father, who was born Oct. 13, 1897. On the 100th anniversary of his birth, I went back out to a special part of the Wisconsin North Woods, where I had spent many hours with him, hiking, hunting, berry-picking, and just enjoying the wilderness, watching otters play and the like. I conducted a ceremony and spent the day thinking about him. He had died in 1966 when I was 21, just after my senior year in college.

9. I suppose you've noticed, what a major mojo, that being a Friday 13th baby really is?

My dad was born on Halloween and my Mom on the Fourth of July. They took me to some great wild places too, when I was a growing lad. I wish we could all, do it all over again.
