Whoopi Goldberg of Roman Polanski "rape-rape" fame still perpetuates rape culture

Wow. On today's "The View" (who watches daytime TV anymore?) actually said: “My opinion is, if you don’t want this kind of attention, don’t get poop-faced. Do not get poop-faced. Do not become so drunk you don’t know what is happening. When you say ‘x, y, z happened,’ you have no way of proving it. So both parties, if you don’t want the agitation, do not become so drunk you can’t figure out what the hell you’re doing.”

How the hell can this woman say such shit?

I think this should be the new theme song for The View.

those are absolutes.

That said, telling ALL to watch alcohol intake as a general principle is not a bad thing.... If Whoopi meant the former, then shame on her--the latter, well, heavy alcohol intake is not good for so very many reasons, I can't disagree...

sounded a lot like she was talking to women. As in, don't get drunk, because then men will take advantage.

There are plenty of ways to teach people to drink responsibly that doesn't involve mentioning rape. I really wish she had done that instead.

It has been ages since I listened to them! Their songs used to be played so much during my childhood. Thanks for reminding me that they exist.

Same logic. Whether someone drinks or not shouldn't have any impact on another's illegal action.

have had no experience with alcohol. They think they can consume it like a soft drink. They pass out. They need friends and family, male and female, to help them drink responsibly. They need help when they are "poop-faced," not rape!
