Little Mermaid ride at Disney World catches fire
LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. —
Sparks from a fireworks display set off a small fire at Walt Disney World in Lake Buena Vista on Thursday.
Disney officials said some of the sparks fell on the artificial foliage of the Voyage of the Little Mermaid ride and caught fire. The ride is located in the new section of Fantasyland.
Crews were able to put the fire out with extinguishers, and no evacuations were issued.
