Laziness and racism combined seems like the most likely answer to me. They didn't want to be bothered with all the hard work of a murder investigation when the victim was a young black male person, whom they probably figured deserved to be killed. I think if victim had been someone important, like a white person, they'd have busted their asses collecting evidence and getting incriminating witness statements.

Maybe if a couple of them roll over on others under Federal investigative pressure, we'll know why it was so blatant...or if it was just as obvious as it seems.

and could have easily contacted people on the phone. They never even questioned the girl he was talking to right before he was killed in cold blood.....probably didn't even check phone records. The parents reported him missing and called 911, yet it took the police days to inform his parents. They also showed a picture of Trayvon with blood coming out of his mouth to his parents. No decency to even clean up the blood before taking photos and showing them to the victim's family.

the death happens within walking distance of his father's house, a number of people in the neighborhood saw it and saw the dead body, and somehow word doesn't get to the father for two days. How can that make any sense? Two days with a dead body in that tiny town, with a missing kid, and word doesn't get to the father.

Why was a person who repeatedly made 911 calls over often bogus things allowed to continue carrying a weapon? It seems so obvious after the fact that Zimmerman was itching to pop someone. He probably had fantasies of being hailed as a hero.

Not only should Zimmerman be investigated but the lack of some previous attention to Zimmerman should also be looked into.

In fact, all the tapes have him reporting only black people. Also, in the tapes I heard, he doesn't even say they are committing crimes. He just says they look suspicious and he's never seen them before. That's it.

I made the mistake of stalking some rw sites and became even more disgusted. The "it wasn't racially motivated" crap is common. Yes, Zimmerman is supposedly of Hispanic descent, and that means that his attack on a black teenager wasn't racially motivated????? I'm from Chicago. There's plenty of racially motivated attacks between Hispanics and blacks. I've also known several very bigoted Hispanics and blacks. Along with bigoted Italians, Asians, Native Americans, Europeans and...Americans. It isn't just racially motivated when it involves a white person. And, let's be totally friggin honest, it would still be a bigoted attack if it had been a homeless white person that looked "suspicious". Bigotry has gone beyond color, race and faith.

If their races had been reversed, the rw would still be defending the shooter. One more of any of "them" off the planet is a good thing in their eyes. To hell with logic and rationality.

I don't know how much more of this kind of shit I can take. Living in Arizona has made me terribly intolerant of stupidity and bigotry...not to be redundant.

This young man's face has been burned into my mind. He died terrified and confused. That's something that his parents will live with for the rest of their lives. Knowing they couldn't protect him.

and he said the Latinos were pissed at Zimmerman too because his actions has caused a rift between the two communities in Florida.

And, I think he is. Public outcry has reached beyond race and even politics. I'm kinda proud of this country, right now. I think the pressure is on to prosecute Zimmerman and it's coming from all directions. Yes, there are the idiots that are still crying for his innocence, but their voices are being shouted down.

the more that comes out, the worse this story gets. Racism is alive and well... also remember, the law that was just passed is also a motivating factor for law enforcement to seek any way to make this murder look justified. The gun industry has a lot of money... and unfortunately, too much influence.
