No, it won't ever be easy, yet nothing worth having ever is.

(10,274 posts)One day we'll live free and no longer in fear. Fear of losing jobs, fear of being raided, your dogs shot, your children kidnapped by the state. Your land stolen, and maybe even your life lost. Fear no more, the times are a changing.

(579 posts)but with this gun-ownership craze, conservatives encouraging everybody to own and carry a gun, and considering how angry some of them happen to be, I am concerned.

Then it dawned on me the color of his skin. This beautiful young man was being vilified for no other reason than his skin color. It makes my blood boil!!

(83,748 posts)Two things that are still considered a minority after so many years.
I know exactly what and who you are talking about, William. What is happening there appalls me. It saddens me. It breaks my heart.
If I had the power to make everything right tomorrow, I would. Sadly I can not.
Yet the message is really about fear. Stop fearing what you do not understand. That encompasses all of us that are persecuted for who we are, the color of our skin and the ones that we love.
I too want it to end.

What I wrote is just my way of taking the message and expanding on it.
And I know for a fact that if you had the power you would not even wait till tomorrow you would do it instantly. Thats because of the person you are and don't let anyone tell you any differently.

(83,748 posts)The last one William, that is the color of all of us. We are all in our struggles, yet we are such amazingly bright bold beautiful colors. Every single one of us!
It's our time.
Thank you~

(34,136 posts)At the lower left corner is a person in a "V" mask. At this link is a picture of possibly the same person in the mask holding the same sign: http://twicsy.com/i/JQYf2b That picture seems to have been posted 07-22-2012.
Other than that, it is a timeless message. Thank you for posting it!

(402 posts)Confirmation of stereotypes is the quickest way into a fools mind and once you are in the mind of that fool there is money to be made. IMO shaming hateful people is the only real weapon we have against mass media capitol marketing.
It needs to be uncomfortable to be willfully ignorant in the US.
