Koch Brothers & Their Ilk Are Like A Spreading Cancer On The Country. They Are Killing The US.

Unless we can stop them the US will cease to exist as a viable country. The decay we see is because people like the Kochs are an insidious evil as dangerous as the Mafia.

the other is to have a Democratic President, Senate and House of Representatives who will pass serious campaign finance reform. I don't think anyone will be able to campaign on it, though. The second a candidate mentions it the Kochs, every other neo-con, Chamber of Commerce will pour all their money into defeating that candidate. The media will help because they're the benefactors of the campaign largess. We can stop them, we can educate the public on what they're doing, and keep the fight going.

I don't think that is even possible today. The Republicans have 29 Governor seats and we would need 66 percent of the states to go along with any Constitutional amendment and that is after the House and Senate agree to it. It is hard enough to get them to raise the debt limit. Trust me, if it was 2015 instead of 2014, that debt limit bill would not have been signed so easily. Republicans only agreed to have a clean debt bill because of mid-terms.

dangerous than the mafia. They need to be shut down completely, somehow. They are close to reaching their goal at this point.

...there is a bold step that could stop the Kochs and their ilk in their tracks. This step is within the power of the president. Indeed, FDR set up plans to do this when Congress and the SCOTUS were obstructing the New Deal agenda.

The president has the power to appoint additional supreme court justices.

FDR planned to appoint several extras who would work alongside the conservative ones who refused to retire. But he blinked.

Obama COULD appoint extra justices, to quash the power of the extremists on the Roberts court.

Three of them, perhaps, and with attrition the court could return to its 9 members after the work of undoing Citizens United, repairing the voting rights, etc., were finished.

Obama could do this. The screaming from the right would be epic. So what?

If only he would, this national nightmare would be over.

Everyone I know under the age of 70 uses Netflix or Amazon and only watches commercials when they watch sports. I'm not so sure these commercials are being heard so much, and that trend will continue.
