I just had a crazy idea (yeah, so what else is new?)! If we want to get money out of our political process, why not tax lobbying? You want to spend your money to influence Congress, you pay dollar for dollar in taxes. Wonder how that'd work?

why not simply make all elections 100% publicly funded, and require equal press time, and debates that give candidates equal talk time and the same questions?

Lobbyist also influence legislation with junkets and other "perks" for Congress. All of those expenditures should be taxed, dollar for dollar!
