How much US economic activity consists of moving money around rather than producing a tangible good or service? How much of the "economic activity" credited to a city is a corporation whose headquarters are in that city but whose manufacturing is elsewhere (even offshore) and distribution networks are nationwide? (for instance how much of Atlanta's "economic activity" comes from the Coca-Cola Company?)
