...be old, but the fundamental lesson remains at the core of a capitalistic society...the game isn't over until one person has all the stuff (and money)...and my bet is that they're still teaching young people in Junior Achievement - assuming they're still doing JA - that the way companies set their prices is based only on 'What you can get people to pay for it'...You see, people still call it 'greed'.

There's a wealth tax - the "income tax" square makes you count up everything you have, not just the $200 you made by going around GO - and people PAY it!

You can buy a whole railroad for just $200

You can buy a utility for just $150

But you can't buy the airport at all.

There's no zoning - you can build hotels anywhere you want

The most expensive piece of land in Atlantic City only costs $400

There's no Chance card that says "Give everything you have to your richest opponent and resign from the game"

And half the cards in the Chance deck don't say that exact thing

The "Go To Jail" card doesn't say "If you have fewer than 10 houses or three hotels, go directly to jail; if you have more than that, circle the board fifteen times, land on Go and put the token of your opponent with the fewest houses in jail instead of yours."

There's no "eminent domain" card. It would say, "You're Declaring Eminent Domain! Move your token to the most expensive property you don't own that has already been purchased. Add up the total cost of all the properties in that color group and pay half the value of all three properties to their current owners, or to the bank if a property in the color group doesn't belong to a player. Purchase a hotel for each property. Then move the former owners of each property to the property you are on and charge them rent."

There aren't any Casinos.

The horse token is the wrong shape: shouldn't it be diving?

They told me when they used to play it, one was rewarded with a line of coke. I guess people don't play it any more? I have never seen it played, but heard it was a lot like Monopoly. Milton Bradley probably would have had a fit about it, or at most bought the game and resold it.
