in South Mississippi, if you want to run a marathon, you need to learn how to swim.
I saw a dog chasing a cat. They were both paddling.
A fish drowned.
Did I mention how hard it is raining?

It's a hard rain's a-gonna fall.
Well that was prophetic about what we have going on right now. I think the sky is just crying at this point. It has accepted that Romney will be the GOP candidate.

(67,438 posts)Our drought was over in June. But you are right, let's not look a gift horse in the mouth, even if he floats right by us.

(53,661 posts)I did not. I was too wet from standing underneath the porch to go outside and take a shower. It's raining sideways.

(53,661 posts)But it was short lived and now it's boring again. Just gray and kinda cool. I'm glad you guys are getting some rain to make up for last summer. So is it La Nina there?
I still think it's "Big baby" crying because they all realize Romney is the Republican candidate

(15,189 posts)Is it a first person shoot game? Is it for PC's? LOL! I love games like that. Even if it's not raining.

(15,189 posts)And if that's a picture from it, that looks pretty cool. I started with these games with Doom in 1993.

(29,047 posts)It is third person, and emphasizes running away over combat. You can fight, but ammo is very scarce, all of your weapons are breakable, and there is no benefit to killing a monster other than the monster no longer being a threat (no experience points, no money, nothing). Some of the other SH games featured a lot of awkward combat, which I didn't like, but Downpour broke away from that.
I think the game is about 2/5 exploration, 2/5 solving puzzles, and 1/5 running away or fighting.
A first-person horror game I have been wanting to play is Amnesia, but it is only on PC, and my computer's graphic card is too lame to run it.
Both Downpour and Amnesia allow the player to open doors a little at a time so you can peek in the room.
A great first-person zombie game is Dead Island. Many people hated it at first because the save function didn't always work! But they patched it, and now it is great. Four playable characters with unique skill trees, intense battles, open world, lots of side quests, item creation, and online co-op.

(60,010 posts)I have been watching it on the radar, as we are next, just across the Ala. line east of you.
The line of storms looked pretty severe but really slow in moving.
The good news is slow storms not likely to pack tornadoes.
Bad news is you may need an ark.

Should I be concerned about that little old man building a boat and some animals lining up in front of his house in pairs?

(60,010 posts)I just looked and So. Miss. is STILL getting pounded.
It has been raining there for about 24 hours??????
We are getting the leading edge right now.
My poor thunder phobia doggy is trying to cram his 80# body into a 10 # space.
The Valium should kick in for him soon.
