Strange really, my sense is we have very few posters who identify on DU as Indian and certainly not 5%.

Being involved in negotiations that typically include traffic stats as a bargaining point, I've seen "Alexa v. Server log" numbers that are all over the map. Alexa is a somewhat good rough guide for relative comparisons, but is awful for absolute stats.

I can tell you than a lot of the spammers use Indian domains. Of course that is not to say that everyone who posts from India is a spammer. Clearly that isn't the case, but it may in part account for the relatively high traffic you note above.
