Hard work = more pay
American Exceptionalism
Other countries take August off, but we don't want to (I do and most every else I know would like to, too)

I love American cars, but this commercial needs to come down. It's gross.

There wouldn't even have been a General Motors, much less the push for high CAFE standards.

Which is an off topic consideration.

I appreciate your point, our entire economy depends upon CONSUMPTION!

So, yeah, this is kind of sickening.

are afraid to take any time off because it will show they're not serious about their jobs and the fat cats who push this crap take more than a month off every year and spend it on beaches in the far east.

Yeah, suckers, sweat your lives away on 60-80 hour work weeks and never take any time off and you know what you'll get when you're forced out at 50? Not nearly enough to keep you alive until you're 62 so you'll have to do dangerous jobs like night clerk at a gas station/convenience store. If you live to 62, you can retire on Social Security because that's all you'll have left of a lifetime of work by then.

And Mr. Smarmy in this commercial? He most likely drives a 15 year old car to and from his bit parts and commercial work because the one thing an actor can count on is frequent unemployment.

They're no longer fooling the majority of kids coming along now and that's a good thing.

Most people talk about it, dream about it. But almost nobody lives that live.

And you know what? It's not even that great.

but the hours are very long since corporations want to get plenty out of salaried employees. About all he can manage at home is flopping in front of the TV, falling asleep right there. He's struggling to pay off his fancy house with the leisure time amenities he's too exhausted to use.

Yeah, my dad lived the corporate salaried employee life. Fortunately, he was smart enough not to try to keep up with any Joneses and was ready when his corporate expiration date of 55 hit and his days of high wages were over.

I don't take any time off in August or any month of the year. I will not be buying a new car because I would not give my money to someone else for one.

Saw it when it first aired during the Stupor Bowel. I was screaming and cursing the screen. Shit like this needed to be in the new Robocop movie. It looks and feels like total parody but it's completely real.

This country deserves what's coming.

Cadillac ELR? Christ, above. Just get a Prius, okay? If you're so concerned about the world that you need a hybrid (regardless of the rest of the shit you do, daily, that makes folks like me laugh) do the easy thing. Stop thinking and buy a Toyota. Thousands do it every day. They line up and purchase a Camry or Corolla. It's A to B without thinking at all. A Prius is just the hybrid, feel-good car for folks that mostly don't know any better.

If you really want a Caddy, get a CTS-V. That way, for the same money, you can enjoy life and still eat bacon without my mockery.

you're too stupid to know the difference. Is this where I do the hash tag thing? Like hashtag dumbass, hashtag fucking idiot? It's a pound sign. Get off my lawn.

I'd rather be a vegan hooning the shit out of my petrol powered automobile for an hour a day in traffic than to be a point-and-laugh idiot like anyone buying one of those.

Or a Prius, etc. But then, those batteries are so economical and environmental.

Not sure how this made it out of editing because my original thought was what a fucking douche this guy is, then I thought what have I seen this guy in before, which I pondered for a second, then went back to what a fucking douche this guy is.

Wait, what are they trying to sell because this guy is a fucking douche? Do fucking douches drive Cadillacs? This guy is a fucking douche, fucking douches drive Cadillacs.

If I ever see a nice Cadillac, I will now have the thought pop, fucking douches drive them. Short of a commercial with a Cadillac running over babies, puppies, kittens, and grandmothers, I can't think of a worse way to try to sell a Cadillac.

Not that I'll ever have a Lincoln or a Cadillac that isn't 10 years old already.
