1. This has to do with cuts to Medicare Advantage plans, which are not the

poor man's Medicare. Medicare Advantage is private insurance companies getting paid for (and profiting by) providing Medicare coverage with extra bells and whistles. With Medicare Advantage, the subscriber pays an EXTRA monthly payment to the private insurance company, on top of the regular payments to Medicare.

These are cuts to corporate subsidies. The Medicare Advantage program is HMO coverage
that was designed by the Republicans to undermine traditional fee for service Medicare.

Of course, every time the Administration attempts to cut the wasteful overpayments that
go directly into the pockets of the CEO's of insurance companies, the Republicans scare old
people by telling them the Dems are coming after Medicare.
