IEEE Voting System Standard Committee(VSSC) 2.27

Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers(IEEE) Voting System Standard Committee(VSSC) 2.27
from: Jessica Myers on Feb 27, 2014

The IEEE VSSC met at the Georgia Institute of Technology on February 6 and 7, 2014. The VSSC is newly formed from the IEEE P1622 working group, which has been working on a common data format for voting systems since 2011.

The VSSC approved a model for voting system event logging and will be drafting the complete standard for public review within the next several months. Three new IEEE working groups were formed to look at: (1) election night results reporting, (2) election modeling, and (3) requirements for voting system usability and accessibility.

The election night results reporting working group should have a model available for public commenting by Spring, 2014.

Presentations and meeting minutes are available at http://grouper.ieee.org/groups/1622/about-the-group.html For further information about the IEEE VSSC, please visit the website or contact John P. Wack
