Hey DUers Check This Out!

My name is Steve, I am 54 years old and disabled with a bad back, diabetes, and other medical problems. I have been a member here since 2001, and I own and run oreilly-sucks.com.

My Father recently passed away in May of last year. I was living with my 89 year old Father who had alzheimers and Dementia, I took care of him and paid the bills with his social security and pension money. Now he is gone and I am all alone in his house with $700.00 a month in bills.

I am still trying to get over his death and a day rarely goes by that I do not cry thinking about him because I miss him so much. I lived with him since 1995, and I was in control of his entire life for the last 2 years, he was not just my Father he was my best friend too. We got about as close as a Father and son could get and I am still depressed from him being gone.

I am on food stamps and I get my medical care from the OSF community clinic, the state pays for it with a medical card that went into effect on 1-1-14, and they pay for my 5 prescriptions with a $2.00 co-pay for each one.

I got a law firm called myler disability to file an SSI claim for me in December of 2012, it was denied and we filed an appeal, the appeal was denied in December and we filed the next appeal for the ALJ hearing with a judge, where most appeals are won. But they tell me I can not get the hearing until December of 2014.

I do not have much of an income, I make $100 to $200 a month selling ad space on my website, but some months I do not make anything. So I need to raise some money to help me pay my bills until I get my SSI ALJ appeal hearing in December.

If anyone can help me and make a donation I would appreciate it very much. If I do not raise some money from donations by the 15th of this month, I will not be able to pay my bills for March or April. I have a $300 truck insurance bill due on April 1st, so I need to raise about $1,000 just to make it to April.

So please donate if you can, I have a paypal donation page on the website:

http://www.oreilly-sucks.com/donate.htm

And my paypal e-mail is: oreillyspins@yahoo.com

Thank you,

Steve

P.S. If you can not make a donation, please keep this kicked up so everyone can see it for a day or two.

Spam is ads for stuff you get in the mail or posted in forums by people that are there just to spam the board.

I am one of the first members here, and have been a member for over 10 years. I am a real person who needs help paying my bills until I can get an ALJ hearing with a judge about my SSI appeal.

And yes I have posted before to raise some money, back in January, and I raised a total of $200.00. Which was not even enough to pay my house payment.

I am glad I got that, but unless I can raise some more money soon I could be evicted and homeless, then how do I make it to December to find out about my SSI appeal.

All I ask is for people to help me and make a donation, if you can I appreciate it greatly, if you can not, please do not accuse me of spamming the board when I have permission to ask for donations.

But thanks to Pretzel_Warrior I did not get any donations.

I do not understand why people do that, if you can not help me just move on, the spam stuff is ridiculous.

I am a real person who is in a temporary financial crisis through no fault of my own, my Father died right in the middle of my SSI appeal process, and left me with no income to pay the bills. It's not my fault it takes a year to get an ALJ hearing, and I thought you guys could help me once again.

I raised $200.00 in January here so I thought I could raise some more, but I guess not.

Sorry if I caused any problems, I guess I will just get evicted and end up homeless.

Unfortunately, I'm not in a position to offer any financial help at this time.

However, appeals on DU are probably not tenable in the long term. As you've noted, contributions are not coming in at a rate that will cover your expenses.

Are there physical assets you can sell at this time to raise additional funds? Is the home you live in a rental, or did your father own it? If there is equity there in the home, that may be the largest asset available to you. But, there may be other assets you can sell to see you through this time period, until your SSDI kicks in, as it probably will after the ALJ hearing.

While you can continue to make appeals on DU, it's likely that the amounts generated from those appeals will continue to diminish. It may be time to take a hard look around you to see if there are other means to generate the cash you need.

Nobody on DU is unsympathetic to your situation, but appeals for contributions here can only do so much.
