(49,998 posts)20. I'm guessing not.
The dining room was filled with the sound of glass shattering and people screaming as a wave of water rushed over the dining room carpet. Everyone froze, including the staff. So, I rushed over to make sure there were not any major injuries. I proceeded to warn everyone of the danger that could follow with the next wave and to evacuate the room. We got the room evacuated without the anymore injuries. I then looked at the manager and asked, 'Do you mind I don't pay for my breakfast and move on?"'

too bad about the damage and that has got to be just terrifying for customers and staff.
We were near the beach today in Ventura and those waves are grey and angry and gigantic.
Stay safe neighbors.

freshwest
(53,661 posts)16. The oceans have always been coming for us. They took out the land bridges between Europe and the UK
and between Siberia and North America. And others we don't even know about.
Some involved earthquakes, the rest were climate change. The ocean always wins.

...Huge waves crash into Newlyn, Cornwall
The British built some pretty sturdy stuff there. They appear to be ready for anything...
