(20,365 posts)The perp had killed two people in Colorado, including the Chief of Corrections.
The woman who sold him the gun was sentenced today to 27 months in prison.
This should give new a new appreciation of the dangers that police face.

(1,115 posts)The officer dropped immediately and lay completely motionless save for gravity slightly rolling him, for quite some time. In addition to an appreciation of the dangers officers face on these 'routine' traffic stops, I have a better appreciation why the Supreme Court determined that deadly force is authorized in a high speed pursuit. Just look at all the motorists that this murderer endangered.

(111,256 posts)He really does fit the look of most of them. It's just a shame he shot a deputy before they got him.
It looked like he'd either popped a hose or maybe cracked a piston ring, his car was smoking pretty badly when he pulled off the highway.
Trying to outrun a cop on a highway is beyond stupid. If he left no offspring, he's a Darwin Award candidate.
I'll bet Texas prisons are going to be a lot more careful about who they let out.
