I do not consume marijuana. I DO consume hemp.

As in buying products made from hemp. Most of my shoes are made from hemp

So, it is my sincere hope that as more states legalize or decriminalize marijuana that hemp is soon to follow. It has the potential to be a major revitalizer of our economy.

That is all

4. Hemp ropes for the Navy, too.

I remember my father had some heavy hemp ropes (he didn't get them from the navy; most likely from his father.) We used when cutting down some diseased post oak trees in our yard. The trees were at least 80 years old, so figure over two feet across and typically dense oak wood. I don't know how heavy some of those sections were, but we did manage to punch a hole in our concrete driveway when one accidentally slipped from our ropes. The rest of the time, those same hemp ropes held up hundreds of pounds of oak-tree sections.

I do know the U.S. government continues to allow various universities to grow test crops for study, but that kind of thing has been going on for decades. If they haven't learned everything there is to know about hemp by now, then it's all just to say that they might be ready for hemp production when they have no such intent whatsoever. A ruse to make people shut up about legalizing the growing of hemp.

Because, in my honest opinion, the DEA are just being assholes because they can.

Thanks for the link, too

I only do edibles though, and only right before I go to bed. The hep C treatment wrecked my ability to sleep otherwise. If I eat a medicated snickerdoodle, I sleep all night.

8. I'm glad it's helping you in a medical way :)

I know a lot of people around here use it recreationally as well as medically. I just wanted to point out that for those of us that don't use marijuana at all, legalizing/decriminalizing it will help us in so many other ways, such as by growing and commercializing hemp

It is truly an amazing plant, though, whatever its uses

And thank you! I was just thinking about how farmers may have to buy hemp-harvesting equipment from Canada or Europe because I doubt if those machines are made here. And there's another industry that will get a boost: farming equipment

Not because of the illegality of the marijuana, but because the hemp pollen will ruin the marijuana plants, lowering the THC content. They may be in the same family, but they just aren't compatible in the same field

Though I still think that farmers won't be adding high-THC plants to their hemp crops. There may be a few idiots that try it, but the rest will do as farmers do: farm the hemp!
