The call has gone out for knitters to get stitching and make pullovers for penguins in rehab.
The Phillip Island wildlife centre in Victoria uses little jumpers to stop the animals cleaning toxic oil off with their beaks.

I tried to learn once and while I found it really relaxing, I just wasn't good at it.

(36,926 posts)Finally realized I don't do knitting well, but am awesome at sewing. No brainer. Still I think I will knit me up a little penguin sweater and send it down to Oz.

I checked out the pattern...looks very easy.
I have a large stash of odds and ends yarn. Currently in the middle of an afghan and starting a bootie/sock project for a grandchild, but this looks like a very portable project.
Am going to print out...thanks for sharing
