His tux was in hand, he'd rehearsed and 5-year-old Miles Scott, aka Batkid, was "all ready" for his Hollywood debut, according to his mom.
"Due to the nature of a live show, hard decisions sometimes must be made which require the Academy to cut segments due to the logistics of production. Andrew Garfield understood that his segment had to be omitted, and he drove to Disneyland on Monday to spend time with 5-year-old Miles Scott and his family."

(3,660 posts)A complete waste of at least 5 minutes. The whole segment made it seem like they were trying to stretch like the show was going to run short, but oh no they still ended up running half an hour late. They could have given this kid two minutes, but instead handing out pizza was what the producers chose.

(3,660 posts)One of those forced uncomfortable moments that always happens at these shows. The segment was too long, when they had Ellen collecting money for the second part of the segment. They could have cut the second part of the segment at least, and they still could have accomplished what they wanted, that is Ellen handing out pizza to other famous people. I just don't understand why they would continue with part two of the segment when they knew they were running so long they were going to have to cut other things out of the program. But I still loved Ellen, and she is by far the best host, second in my book would be Billy Crystal.
