GOP Must Confront Dramatic New Numbers On Obamacare

Republicans Must Make A Choice About Obamacare: Repeal Or Relent

DYLAN SCOTT – MARCH 10, 2014, 11:20 AM EDT

The number of uninsured Americans has dropped by three to four million since Obamacare coverage took effect Jan. 1, according to a new Gallup survey. How much of the drop can be precisely attributed to the health care law is a matter of debate, though there are signs that enrollment among the uninsured is picking up.

What isn't up for debate: Republicans are now confronted with a fork in the road in how they approach Obamacare. Repeal or relent.

Every newly insured American undermines the "repeal" stance that has been the party's status quo over the last four years. But relenting, acknowledging the law won't be undone and pivoting to more of a "fix" mentality isn't going to be easy either, given the demands of the far-right.

You can't have both.

6. Obamacare is here to stay, in one form or another. Perhaps they'd like it better if we called it...

would realize how cruel and heartless they would appear trying to take healthcare away from americans once they have it. I think that's why they voted on repeal so many times before the start date.
I think that's why the private the expansion of medicaid was approved here in Arkansas. I know that I certainly let the republicans know how I felt. And I also let my Democratic representatives know how much their fight meant to me personally.
Had it not been for the ACA I would not have been able to get the life saving surgery to remove a tumor in my jaw in February! Even if it was a financial hardship to come up with funds for the trip,I certainly was prepared to go to Little Rock to share my story if my Representative felt it would help!!
The longer the ACA stays in effect the harder it will be for those soulless asswipes to get rid of it!!

Painfully Delusional Ted Cruz STILL Thinks Repealing Obamacare Is Possible — After FIFTY Failed Attempts (Video)

Bob Cull
March 10, 2014

Ted Cruz’s delusions are nothing if not persistent, appearing on This Week, he told Jonathan Karl that he still believes he can get “every word of Obamacare” repealed next year even with the President still in office. After having tried 50 times including a shut down of the federal government last October and failing each time he still refuses to admit defeat, clinging to the idea that it can be done.

He himself said at the time of the shut down that it had to be done before the individual mandate took effect or it would be impossible to do it because the people would not support it.

Referring to his speech at CPAC and the enthusiastic applause drawn by his vow to repeal Obamacare, Karl said, “we can acknowledge that’s not going to happen while Barack Obama is President, right?”

“Yeah, I’ll give you one scenario where it could,” Cruz responded cockily. “If there’s one thing that unifies politicians of both parties is their top priority is preserving their own hide, and if enough Congressional Democrats realize they either stand with Obamacare and lose or they listen to the American people and have a chance at staying in office, that’s the one scenario we can do it in 2015, if not we’ll do it in 2017.”

“So you honestly think there is chance that you can get Obamacare repealed, every word as you say?” Asked Karl with an amused smile.

“Every — single — word,” Cruz replied.
