(40,416 posts)But I don't think this is up to the task unless lots of people are in on it. And I mean lots and lots of people. Even then, it's like looking for a needle in a haystack.
Good luck if you try it. I can't here because I don't have the bandwidth. I would be tempted if I did.

(9,314 posts)Looks like two boat shaped objects to me:

(118,636 posts)because you see them in groups as if a gust has just come along and made them crest together. And then sometimes there are no white dots and that would be calm seas. When the sea turned inky I tagged them because that could ne fuel. Wow. 400. I'm not worthy.

(118,636 posts)Veitnam and Malaysia. The resolution is big enough that you could see an inflatable raft, an oil slick or some plane wreckage in the water. When you see something that looks like one of the above you circle it using their tags. Then you move on to the next photo. In whatever order you want to look at. Meanwhile the website has algorithms that take all the croud-sourced tags and adds them all up. When say a few hundred people have tagged one spot in the ocean they will automatically take a closer look. The satellite photos of the ocean are from the last few days. So evidence may be there from the day of the crash which no longer exists. They are hoping through crowd-sourcing they will find clues to where the plane hit the ocean. Going back in time and with numbers of eyes to do something good. Because we all feel so helpless.

You're on this.. do you think it's possible for a plane to disappear into the Ocean there and not leave a trace? Certainly deep sea divers will have the apparatus to discover something if it's there?

(118,636 posts)had broken up at high altitude or crashed into the ocean it would have left a huge debris field. And that the metal parts of the plane are honeycombed so they would float. But if the plane had landed on the ocean like Sully Sullenberger and fail to be watertight it could have sunk without leaving much in the way of clues. Thats the latest speculation Ive seen. I also dont think it is very deep ocean so that may make it easier to find.

(297,184 posts)That's right.. so it's not looking like it exploded in air.

When you see the grid of rectangles, click one of them to load its corresponding satellite imagery.
