The father of one of two women whose bodies were found last week on the Bolivar Peninsula was arrested Thursday in connection with the deaths. James Larry Cosby, 46, of Houston, is charged with two counts of tampering with evidence in the deaths of his daughter, Britney Cosby, and Crystal Jackson, according to the Galveston County Sheriff's Office. Both women were 24. Deputies said Cosby is in the Galveston County jail in lieu of $500,000 bail. Charges against him, deputies added, may be upgraded to capital murder as the investigation continues. Cosby was arrested early Thursday morning after investigators interviewed him about the case following a vigil in Houston for the slain women, said Galveston County Sheriff Henry Trochesset.

Police have revealed that Jackson murdered by gunshot and that Crosby's daughter died from blows to the head. The father attended the vigil for the couple.

How does one attend a vigil for the couple that he just murdered, anyway? That's either a sign of extreme remorse.....or a spit in the face towards the victims. I'd suspect it was the latter in this case. Throw this dickhead in the slammer and keep him there.

This is neighborhood gossip, but likely has some truth to it- he had her killed because her grandmother left her everything in the will. He is a drug addict. Nothing whatsoever to do with her sexuality.

From what I understand, he may not have done the killing- but hired someone.

Ronald Clark O'Bryan (nicknamed The Candyman) (October 19, 1944 – March 31, 1984) was a murderer from Deer Park, Texas convicted of killing his eight-year-old son Timothy on Halloween, 1974 with cyanide-laced candy in order to claim life insurance money. He may have also distributed poisoned candy to other children in an attempt to cover up his crime; but neither his daughter, Elizabeth, nor any other child ate any poisoned candy.

O'Bryan was eight months behind on his car payments and had total debts of almost $100,000. In January 1974 he had taken out $10,000 life insurance policies on both of his children, Timothy and Elizabeth. He later bought additional $20,000 policies on both children, despite the objections of his life insurance agency, bringing the total policy value to $60,000.[1]

O'Bryan was executed on March 31, 1984 by lethal injection, after claiming his innocence.[2] After O'Bryan's crimes became public, Halloween safety programs were implemented in Deer Park, teaching parents methods for evaluating the safety of door-to-door treats by visual inspection.

During the execution, a crowd of college students wearing Halloween masks showed up to cheer.[3]

The musical group Siouxsie and the Banshees recorded a song about O'Bryan called "Candyman", the first track on their album Tinderbox.

of a lesbian couple getting attacked, were one was killed and the other was seriously wounded? Iirc they never found the attacker.
