...re-read my many Doonesbury compilations. Trudeau was an absolute master at distilling the issues and essences of the day into the 4 frame format. Many fond memories. I loved Zonker.

Had I had a daughter, I would have used one of his strips as a birth announcement. It was one featuring a little girl who had a lot of younger brothers, thrilled that her mom had just given birth to a baby girl. I can still picture clearly the frame of her on the phone, excitedly announcing, "It's a woman! It's a baby woman!"

We have 2 sons, so I had to come up with something else.
