MSM Speculators Love This Missing Plane Story......

This missing plane story is a dream for the MSM Cable News channels. They're bringing all sorts of aviation experts, terror experts, communications experts, etc on and all of them are speculating to high heaven. It's almost humorous as to what theories are being tossed out there by these experts - as to what happened to the plane.

But the funniest thing I heard late last night was a gentleman - I was half asleep so I don't remember what his credentials were. When asked where the plane might be - he replied - Well one thing we know for sure is it either came down on land or on water.

Stories like this just naturally lend themselves to speculation. I think that's too bad. But the 24/7/365 news cycle feeds that way more than it should, too.

although with many unfortunates involved. Perhaps these people are alive and will be reunited with their families.

"That being said" it is sort of OJesque: mystery, intrigue of personaltiy, various postulated scenarios, movie-like. Great stuff for lazy journalists...

the other day say the plane was in Pakistan sitting in a hangar ready to be outfitted

with explosives or possibly a nuclear device ready to attack someplace.

He didn't say what happened to the passengers.

It takes months to find a private plane that is missing when they have a very good idea of where it went missing. A few rocks or trees can hinder the ability to spot a plane crash from the air.

It is strange that CNN has become the 24/7 plane crash channel considering there are so few Americans on the flight. We here nothing about fukushima for three years because it "isn't interesting to Americans" but this flight gets 24/7 coverage. Lazy reporting.

8. Isn't this is typical of what passes for 'news' in today's standard of journalism?

These endless, no-news time-fillers are exactly why people are seeking -- and finding! -- alternative hard news sources that actually report real issues. An endless parade of self-proclaimed, expert talking-heads sagely pronouncing they don't know anything, is NOT news!

Reminds me of the time a sportscaster said, "If they Phillies want to win, they have to score more runs than the other team."
