I know the family of the CHP officer will get some money. I am sure they'd rather have their family members.

... but the ridiculous "floor mats" excuse has been debunked. They finally lost a trial in which their electronic controls were the culprit which I have believed since the trooper's family was killed, it was insulting to think a damn floor mat was the issue in that accident.

I believe they figured out what was really wrong a while back and quietly changed the software. Since day one, their only concern has been keeping this all quiet.

$1.2 billion, plus the hundreds of lawsuits they have to deal with, I guess that is as good a corporate punishment gets.
