White House Might Ditch BlackBerry for Android

http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2455274,00.asp

BlackBerry may be losing one of its most high-profile clients; reports indicate that the White House is testing Android-based smartphones.

Citing a person familiar with the matter, the Wall Street Journal said Samsung and LG-manufactured devices are being tested by the U.S. government's internal tech team and White House Communications Agency.

Still in the early stages, the move from the traditional BlackBerry to more modern Android remains "months away," the paper said.

The White House did not immediately respond to PCMag's request for comment.

Free apps abound, and I'm all about saving money - including my unwillingness to shell out hundreds more for an iPhone.
