A damn shame we couldn't have gotten a few more states before it expired.

(132,448 posts)3. the time limit thing was a very rare thing for an amendment, for one thing. and it was sad how
few votes separated us from ratification. somewhere I seem to remember that it was a total of about three votes, that's how close it was in some states.
