Something was nagging at me all day. Couldn't put a finger on it.

Oh, I know I'm new here. Still trying to figure out the players and the cliques and rules of engagement.

But reading the posts the last few days, and especially today I just had that nagging feeling. It has been reminding me that I was forgetting something.

Then it hit me.

11 years ago today, March 26th 1997.

39 members of Marshall Applewhite's little cult were found dead in a mansion San Diego.

Draped in black shrouds, wearing Nike shoes, each with $5.75 in their pocket for fares, plastic bags over their heads and full of phenobarbital and vodka.

It was known as Heaven's Gate.

Not even sure what brought it to mind.

Just a funny feeling.

It was really fun. The professor was a member for a while in order to study them.

And 1997 was more than 11 years ago.

...is that the link in the OP goes to the Heavensgate cult web site from 1997.

Who the fuck continues to maintain this site, and why?

Remember when most of the web looked like that? How far it has come.
