Consumer spending up, consumer sentiment down. Wonder why?

On MSNBC's Market Wrap they reported that consumer spending was up 0.3% last month due to increased spending on health care and utilities.

But consumer sentiment was down.

Well, when your spending is up only because you are cold and sick...

It was a dreadful-weather February for most of the USA and somehow "consumer spending" in the form of higher heating bills just isn't the same fun as a spree the mall.
