How Does Someone Go About Getting an Extension to The ACA?

The website says nothing. I heard you can put your name in and sign up later in the month. Is there a phone number to call? Anyone know? Thanks.

*edit* Thanks! Yes, I meant ACA not AHA.

If you are on healthcare.gov just be sure to start the sign-up process. PoliticAverse Mar 2014 #2
If you have already started the process of acquiring insurance, then you have the extension. nt ChisolmTrailDem Mar 2014 #3

You don't need to explicitly ask for an extension at this time.

Note: If you are on a state run exchange check with the individual state exchange as some may not be
offering extensions.

I thought I had to call & get my name on a list. Seems like every option I look at is $700 + a month and I can't do that.

You don't need to sign up for a plan yet but you need to get the account created today. It takes about 5 minutes...

I go to enroll, it asks me about how many live in my household and what is my income. Once I fill that out it offers me about 16 different plans, all way too high for me to afford on a month to month basis. I have a phone number I am about to call but feel I will be on hold for a long time. Does anyone have a direct links as to where I can just open an account? I've spent so much time on the site looking and can't find anything. Thanks again in advance!

you will be eligible for coverage. They will ask if you prefer to be called in the am or pm. The number I called was 800-318-2596.

I FINALLY got through. I could not log into the healthcare.gov site because my state was not listed. So, I had to go to AccesshealthCT to do so. I signed up and registered and it welcomed me and everything so I am guessing that I am at least signed up, so I can figure some of this out on my day off or if anything call and get some answer when things are not as crazy as they are today (last day) Thanks again for everyone who replied and PM'd me. Thanks for the help & patience.

extension period is only one or two weeks. If you wait, you will get caught up in the rush backwash again.
