He was ( still is? ) this big teabagger and I was trying to explain the tea party's two-faced irony with the well known "Get government hands off my medicare" meme some trotted out. He completely missed the irony and took the statement at face value and debated on that. Probably as much a demonstration of Poe's Law as much as as not being able to detect irony.

4. As repulsed as I am by that law, I think Branstad only decides if the individual is requesting a

taxpayer-funded abortion. Not that that isn't bad enough, but you have to ask if the real reason is to slow down the process so the victim must carry the baby to term. I think that is the only way they can make the law constitutional. I wondered at the time if a democratic legislator could add that same provision to a bunch of state-funded medical procedures. If the Governor wants to play Lord Almighty with medical decisions, why don't we make sure he gets a lot of practice.
