Mercedes-Benz introduces the triple decker bus: 'Jumbo High-Body'

The newly developed Jumbo High-Body bus (the name a nod to jumbo wide-bodied aircraft) will hold 120 passengers, 40 per level, in two-abreast seating on either side of a center aisle. A maximum of 20 standing passengers each can also be carried on levels one and two, but not permitted "for safety reasons" on level three, according to a Mercedes-Benz press release.

The extra capacity, together with a more economical diesel-electric hybrid engine, will greatly reduce pollution in urban areas.
