(2,805 posts)For three full days. 100 people missing and unknown how many dead and they mentioned it for 10 seconds twice an hour for the first three days. The rest of the time was cockpit simulator. It was a disgrace.
They could have easily gotten video coverage from local stations and used that footage. I guess they couldn't "afford" a ratings slump as they got people interested in a new story. There new director that Zucker guy is destroying 30 years of CNN's reputation with his "three big stories a day" philosophy.

(9,893 posts)Nothing about the sign up period for non-Medicaid ACA coverage, nothing about Ukraine, nothing about the possible release of Pollard, nothing about the ridiculous Ryan budget.
They're not my favorite news source, but they have been better than this by a long shot.

(9,893 posts)Actually, I didn't pay much attention to them during that period, just like I'm not paying much attention to them now.
They have been better than "Runaway Bride," as well.
I really wish that we'd see more segments from CNN International, unless they're about that plane!
Don't get me wrong. The plane is a tragedy and it would be a good idea to find out what happened to see if anything can be learned to prevent similar problems, whatever they were, from happening in the future.
But this is just ridiculous.

(9,974 posts)after the deadly mudslide. Was hard to wrap my mind around that...close to possibly 200 people MISSING here in the US after a natural disaster and it was mentioned as a blurb on CNN in between plane coverage. At this rate, if (heaven forbid) a devastating earthquake on the West Coast does hapen, we MIGHT get a blurb scrolled across the bottom of the CNN screen as we see nonstop reports about the missing plane ("and back to our flight simulator...). I notice the only time that CNN goes to other coverage is when it's time to show their Chicagoland film but they preface it with a panicky don't worry...we will be right back to plane coverage soooooon or we will break into the show with ANY news information!
