Tech employee shuttle buses will be allowed to use a limited number of Muni stops for a fee after city officials voted Tuesday to deny an environmental appeal meant to stall the pilot program.
The appeal, which opponents filed in February, said the city did not properly examine and evaluate potential environmental impacts to the city from the buses, which carry employees from San Francisco to tech campuses on the Peninsula and in the South Bay.
Environmentalists and union representatives said the city planning department should not have exempted the program from reviews under the California Environmental Quality Act.
... Activists surrounded and blocked a Google bus at 24th and Valencia streets in San Francisco on Tuesday morning in advance of the hearing to draw attention to the appeal vote. They danced in front of the bus in one-piece clown suits and urged passersby to board the Google bus as part of a fake "GMuni" program. San Francisco police cleared the protest after about 15 minutes.

And the busses are way better then the employees driving their cars........
