Unless you are somehow keeping your birth year a secret, your age isn't really much of a mystery.

It's also against the law to ask them if they're married or have children. But since few people know this they get away with it. Plus it doesn't look good if you tell a prospective boss that he's breaking the law.

It's a catch 22.
