Pastor: Mom in bathtub case once hit kids with van
MCCANDLESS, Pa. (AP) -- A western Pennsylvania woman accused of drowning one of her young sons and critically injuring another in a bathtub backed into the boys with her van 10 months ago, her pastor said.
And court records show she left a child unattended in a hot car in 2009.
North Park Church Pastor Dan Hendley told The Associated Press on Wednesday that the van incident happened in the driveway of the boys' grandparents in a town near McCandless, where Laurel Michelle Schlemmer had been living with her sons. No charges were filed.
"There was no concern that there was anything but a terrible accident that occurred in that situation," Hendley said.
