Has anyone noticed I really really really do not care for this bank?

Today I read somewhere in my browsing that BOA has paid out SIXTY Billion in fines and fees over the last few years.
Not enough, I say.
Bank Of America May Pay $800 Million For Questionable Credit Card Add-Ons
Theres another big legal bill on the horizon for Bank of America, as reports indicate the bank may soon agree to pay $800 million to settle allegations tied to sketchy add-on services for credit card customers.
The Wall Street Journal reports that BofA is working out a deal with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, which has has been going after credit card issuers for pushing customers into paying for questionable add-on services like identity-theft protection and programs that are supposed to help cardholders who lose their jobs.
Many such add-ons were good revenue generators for the banks, but often offered little to no protection for those stuck paying the fees. Since the CFPB began going after these programs like last years $70 million settlement with American Express
and the $389 million smackdown of JPMorgan Chase a number of banks have stopped selling them.
CFPB has also made similar deals with Capital One and Discover over these upsold credit card add-ons, for $150 million and $200 million, respectively.

(5,420 posts)they took my house. sued me for 90,000. bought the house for 102,000 at auction. It is now on the market for 69,000. Screwed themselves out of 30 grand if they had not gotten greedy and let someone else buy it.

(551 posts)Was the Assignment of Mortgage from the loan originator to B of A? What was the year of the Assignment? Who signed and notarized the document? In what state was it notarized? Was the property Titled over to Fannie after the auction?
Homeowners understand traditional mortgages; unfortunately they dont understand present day securitized mortgages.

(551 posts)Losing a home is traumatic and youll find your own way to understand and accept the event. In my heart though I think people are best served by knowing the truth, and I realize it's more likely that you were wrongfully foreclosed than legally foreclosed.
Im glad you had counsel. I remember when I first searched for counsel and I spent months just trying to find an attorney who understood MERS and their unlawful practices. I couldnt possibly hire an attorney who understood less than me about securitized mortgages.
Its easier now to find counsel who understands the fraud at origination, during the servicing, and the fraud that takes place during foreclosure.
If you were wrongfully foreclosed, you would be entitled to noteworthy damages and I wouldnt want you or anyone to miss considering that option.
I prefer to see the banksters held accountable and damaged homeowners properly compensated than see the banksters escape accountability and remain free to steal homes from other homeowners.
Most land records are online and can easily be searched if youd like to do some checking.
Im sorry you had that experience but if you were defrauded, I think you deserve to know so you can consider your options.

(15,801 posts)do NOT bank with B of A. You're easy pickings for them. If you get a settlement from an injury suit, do not deposit it anywhere near B of A. If you have a disabled family member do NOT be a co-signer on any accounts, B of A will use you as a conduit into the disabled person's accounts.

(60,010 posts)No fees, low check replacement costs, raely any teller lines, I can phone them for balance checks, and they are close by.
since we don't use ATMs and rarely travel outside the county anymore, works well for us.
No way would I use a "big" bank, tho.
